I am Salvation

My first Canon Deck. Marcus and I built decks based off of the E/F Canon in order to test out our idea, of building decks restricted by set. I have to say that these decks, although similar in most respects, worked and played very well together. All the games we played were very close and competitive, proving our theory that this would be a fun and interesting gameplay-type. For more information on our "Canon" Decks and game play, go to my "CANON BLOG"

These decks are almost all angels vs. demons, with a few starter heroes thrown in. Red was the obvious choice for the humans, mainly because of Freedom! and Book of Gad the Seer, basically letting you discard an evil character twice, potentially 2 rescues. Silver was my main choice, because of all my options in Angel Wars. This is where Chamber of Angels comes in very handy. There's alot of instant discard cards for evil in Angel Wars, this takes away some of their sting because you'll see your angel in a couple of rounds.

One thing that really helps this deck, and something that I have rarely explored before, is warrior-class heroes and weapon-class enhancements. This really ups the power for the offense, and the weapon-class cards have some great abilities, like Sword of the Fighter, and Sword of the Holy. Michael's Sword doesn't come in very handy, because it mainly targets Prince of this World, which is not available in this play type.

For my evil side, I went with black, gray, and brown. They all have at least one Panic Demon, and Obsidian Minion, so there is much banding potential. Morg in black, and Morgan, in brown, add the much needed power. Unaware is a great card for this deck, as my entire defense is made up of demons. These type of cards, along with Blast of Fire, are great choices because you will always be able to use them. There are no restrictions. Intent to Kill is also a main card in my deck, there's no better reason to sacrifice a card from my hand then to discard a hero in battle, plus it gets the added bonus of not being able to be prevented by a good card. There IS a negate card for red in the E/F starter, so this is a great card to play to get around that.

Now, I have to say, this is no tournament winning deck. It does have it's major flaws, mostly in the powerful cards that are out there that cannot be in this deck, due to it's restrictions. But I think that is what makes this deck so much fun to play. It's made up of modern cards, and there are no cards like Wall of Protection, Falling Away, New Jerusalem, etc. So it is definitely more of a simple game, yet I think the lack of some of the older, powerful cards, actually increases the competition in this play-type, granted you have to be playing against a E/F Canon deck as well. Try it sometime, I guarantee you'll love it.
